Today our beloved Overdale Chiefs had their first scrimmage against the Maryville Patriots. We all know scrimmages
don't count but today we'll make an exception. Our Chiefs racked up 6 TD's to the Patriots 1 during our scrimmage.
Our opening drive was a run right up the middle by fullback Danny Vasquez for 20 yards. Mario, our Chiefs quarterback
was definitely the player to watch. At quarterback Mario scored the majority of our TD's and and on defense he
delivered some awesome hits. Although there is a lot of room for improvement, our Chiefs played very well as a team
and had fun.
To all the other players, everyone did really well. As we get to know our players names and faces a little better,
we'll have a more thorough and in depth player review. So all you Chiefs parents out there, feel free to e-mail us with
your kids info or anything we might have missed.

Just as before, our little Chiefs did well. Our kids melted the Steelers, shutting them out completely. We
know it's only a scrimmage, but it's not like we're keeping score. So with that said, if anyone doesn't like what we
have to say, get your own website! After the 5th TD we just stopped counting. The Chiefs opening drive was finished
off on the second play with a TD run the length of the field by FB Danny Vasquez. That was followed by TD's from our
QB Mario, HB Conner, and Noah. Good job guys! Every single kid played well and is getting better. There
were some awesome blocks, which helped with all the TD's. Of course things can always be improved, but everyone was
very impressed. Be sure and check back for video highlights and photos from todays scrimmage. They'll be posted
tomorrow ( August 8th ).
Again, parents, if you have a photo you would like us to post or have other info to include, please e-mail us.
Go Chiefs!

Today the Jefferson County Cardinals had their wings clipped by our Chiefs. It was a long drawn out game in some
pretty hot weather. Why the Cardinal took 15 minutes to call every play, we have no idea. Even some of the Cardinal
parents were getting impatient. It was just horrible. As for our Chiefs, we did good. We scored 4 or 5 TD's
to their 1, but like we always say, "who's counting". Lets just consider these scrimmages, preseason games. And
lets hope the next time we meet the Cardinals, they move at a quicker pace. Sorry Cardinals. Go Chiefs!

Wow! What a game! Talk about, down to the wire. The last seconds of this game was truly a nail-biter.
With the first official game under our kids belts, a big hats off to our Chiefs for staying in the fight, all the way to the
end. It was so hot, yet our Chiefs played hard. First game jitters were definitely present, but the discipline
of our kids overcame that. The best part of the game, of course, was the score. Overdale Chiefs 12,
Cedar Grove Viking 6. Great job team! Great job coach Sean! There are so many plays we can talk about, whether
on offense or defense, but the offensive play of the day would have to be our QB Mario's TD run that gave us the lead.
The defensive play of the day, without a doubt, was the team tackle to stop the last second TD run by the Vikings. On
the Viking last play, with regulation time running out, our defense stopped their run down the side as time expired, holding
on to the lead to win the game. Good job Chiefs, we're all proud of you! And thanks to all the parents for your
spirit and support!
Hey PioneerNews! It was Chiefs 12, Vikings 6!
August 25, 2007
Even though your Overdale Chiefs "photographer"/ "reporter" was out sick for this game, we understand our Chiefs baited
and hooked the Dolphins with a nice defeat lure to finish with another victory. This time our Chiefs served up a 39-19
score. Great job Chiefs, we are all very proud of you!
August 28, 2007
Ok where do we begin? Today was the hardest scrimmage our Chiefs have ever played. It was our Chiefs vs.
the Highview Okolona Colts. Or should we say the Indianapolis Colts! These kids were ginormous! I wouldn't be
surprised if half the team was at least 20 years old! For a second we thought the coach was going to suit up and play.
Good job Colts, sick your 4th and 5th graders against kids as young as 5. With that said, our Chiefs still hung
in there and played til the end. We couldn't be prouder. It was a good experience for our Chiefs and only made
them stronger. To all the kids, you are doing very well, and are getting better as each day goes by. Keep it up.
Go Chiefs! Check out the scrimmage photos tomorrow.

Today our Chiefs met with the Fairdale Bulldogs for a scrimmage. With gray clouds above and rain threatening, our
little Chiefs still shined through. As our scrimmage began, things looked gloomy just like the weather. But as
always our Chiefs gave it their all from start to finish and it paid off. Your Overdale Chiefs outscored the Bulldogs
towards to end. Good job Chiefs!
September 1, 2007 River City Classic
Although it was a bye week for our Chiefs, we were still able to squeeze in some football. Our Overdalechiefs faced
the Iroquois Raiders in the River City Classic. Fortunately this game didn't count against us because the Chiefs were
defeated by a score of 14-0. We'll chaulk it up as a little fun extra credit game. Our Chiefs played well, both
teams played good defense. But it was the Raiders the capitalized on some of the Chiefs mistakes. Not to mention,
each quarter was about ten seconds. The game flew by! Good team work Chiefs! We'll be back tomorrow to face
another opponent and report on that game then.
September 2, 2007 River City Classic ( Day Two ).
Today was the second day in a row that our Chiefs faced an opponent. The outcome today, different! This time
it was against the Valley Vikings. Our Chiefs bounced back from yesterdays game to beat the Vikings by a score of 26-12.
There was no surprise when it came to the River City Classic MVP, it was none other then our QB Mario Convenuto. Great
job Mario! A great job to the entire team to help Mario do what he does best, dominate! Keep up the good work.
Go Chiefs!
September 4, 2007
Here we go again! Same team, same results, same delays, same outcome. Today our Chiefs scrimmaged against
the Derby City Cardinals and just as before, our Chiefs won despite the Cardinals time consuming play calling. Two months
into the season, you would expect a little quicker offense. It took about 5-10 minutes to call an offensive and break
ffrom the huddle. Maybe they were trying to delay the inevitable. Either way it did not
work. Chiefs, victorious again. Go Chiefs!
September 8, 2007
Todays special was Shepherdville Raiders served with a side of defeat. How did it taste? You'll have to ask
the Raiders! Our Chiefs are doing so well. A big hats off to all the players. Especially our offensive line.
Without their blocking things would be different. Of course we can't forget Coach Sean. Awesome job, keep up the
good work. To the point, Chiefs 18 Raiders 12. Despite our turnovers, our Chiefs stayed focused and never lost
sight of the endzone. Good job guys, were very proud of you!
September 15, 2007
Today the stage was set. Cross town-rivals met on a beautiful Saturday morning for some football. There was
just one problem. Only one team showed up, and that was the Chiefs. Even though we love the rivalry and the excitement
it stirs up between the kids and the parents, what we love more is the 27 to 0 spanking we gave the Patriots. Turns
out, the only thing Patriotic about this game was the flag on the field. Or maybe how our Chiefs left the Patriots red
and blue. Our Chiefs completely dominated the entire game. The entire team did their jobs very well. Our
offense rushed well over 100 yards, our defense kept moving the Patriots backwards, and the line was awesome. HB's Noah
and Conner stole the show, as did our QB Mario. Again, incase you missed it, Chiefs 27 Patriot 0! Chiefs
27 Patriots 0! Chiefs 27 Patriots 0! Sorry Patriots.
September 22, 2007
Way to go Chiefs! What a win! Overdale Chiefs 40, L.J. Jaguars 0! They just kept giving the ball to the Chiefs.
Of course some of the hits our Chiefs put on them, sure helped the Jaguars fumble. Some of the hardest hits on the Jaguars
were by our very own, Mario Convenuto and Dylan Davis. If our opponents think we are a one man show, they're very
wrong. We had big plays by HB Noah, HB Conner, HB/TE Dylan, and of course our QB Mario. Defense
was awesome and our defensive line put the pressure on the entire game. Good job kids, you guys are the best!
September 29, 2007
Chiefs win! The Saints didn't have a prayer. Our Chiefs shut out the Saints 26-0. Good job Chiefs.
October 6, 2007
Just as Goliath fell against David, so did our Chiefs against the Mt. Washington Colts. Our Chiefs fell 14-0 in
an ugly game plagued with mistakes. Our kids had an acute case of " fumblitis". Missing our starting center Clayton
didn't help, as several of our snaps were fumbled. Not to mention, we coughed up the ball a couple times in the open
field. Regardless of the outcome, we are still proud of our Chiefs and even more proud of their spirit after losing
their first game. Today was just a bad game for us, can't wait for next week! Redemption!
October 13, 2007
Our Chiefs fought hard the whole game, let alone, the whole season. With the regular season games being over, we
look foward to crunch time. Although our little Chiefs lost 6-12 to the Bengals, our kids should be proud and keep their
heads up. We are still the team to beat and still the team everyone knows about. Next, we sit and wait.
Go Chiefs!
October 27, 2007
Chiefs advance to playoffs! Our little Chiefs did an awesome job and were really hyped about this game. Not
even the wet soaked field or mud could stop them. Congratulations! Chiefs 19, Patriots 6. Keep up the good
work kids, we're very proud of each and every one of you! Go Chiefs!
November 3, 2007
Today we close the chapter of our Chiefs 2007 season. However, we take the experiences and the spirit with us into
the next season. First a big heartfelt thank you to Coach Sean Burton. You did terrific all season long and have
given these kids more than you know. For most of these kids you will always be remembered as their first coach and will
always be a part of their lives. Thank you for all you have done and for inspiring these kids and bringing forth their
confidence and skills. To all the kids, you did an amazing job all year long. This team could not have made it
as far as it did without everyone helping and doing their jobs. We are so proud of all of you. You are all champions
in our eyes. Thank you to all the parents that have always been there and for their support. The significance
of a childs parent/s support and participation is very important, especially when parents are there to see their children
reach their personal milestones and celebrate with them. This is all time we do not get back, and thank you again to
the parents. For record, Viking 33 Chiefs 20. We'll post new photos up soon. Our apologies for missing the
photos for the last couple of weeks. Also for the record, GO CHIEFS!
